Maria Loughlin July 6th, 1992- September 27, 2088
Age 96, of Boulder, CO. Maria passed away at rest in the comfort of her own home, witnessed by her 32 year old granddaughter, Ann. Since 2080, Maria has been a widow when she lost her husband Jay, 90 to cancer.
Maria was born in 1992 in the heart of small town Rogers, MN. Loughlin is looked upon in her community as this small town girl, cashing her dreams. Her heart and devotion was out on the courts. That’s what made Maria Loughlin who she was; she learned everything she knew from playing the game. Maria’s lifetime goal was to further her career in physical therapy and leave her home to bigger and better things.
“No matter how crazy her thoughts may be, she’ll do anything to make them possible,” 65 year old son, John stated on his mother’s aspirations. Maria is leaving behind two sons, John and James along with three beautiful granddaughters now in their 30’s.
I liked reading an older version of your obituary, and it makes me feel old that you were born in 1992... :) I also liked the use of quotes!
ReplyDeleteI liked the quotes as well. Seeing the years "1992-2088" in print seems so odd, like it's just too far off to fathom.

ReplyDeleteI liked your use of quotes, but I think to say that "Maria is leaving behind two sons, John and James along with three beautiful granddaughters now in their 30’s" isn't objective. I think it seems a little too personal, perhaps if you want to refer to the daughters as "beautiful" it should be quoted or paraphrased, otherwise the author would seem biased.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your obituary (it seems so weird to say that to someone!) It was concise and to the point. I enjoyed the quote in the final paragraph, it was sweet and gave me a better sense of who you were.
